From the debut of LCD Soundsystem’s documentary to Janelle Monae’s tightrope walking, toe-tapping archandroid orchestra, not forgetting Karen O and Florence and the Machine, the line up is full of sensory overloading goodness.

I’ve always been into pioneering – not just pushing the envelope, but putting it through the shredder – and the relationship between sight & sound. That’s why my pick will be Amon Tobin’s 3D “ISAM”. The Brazilian producer uses projection mapping and audio bites to take narrative telling to another level.

There’s heaps of videos about this project and many others on YouTube but here’s a little taste test below. Should check it out, I know I’ve lost hours doing it!

The National Drugs Campaign partnered with the festival to encourage the crowd to make the most of the live music on the day by partying safely.

We spent most of our day hanging out in the National Drugs Campaign ‘Chill Out Zones’ which was decked out with fans and bean bags (and a pretty good view of the stage!). Hanging out in there proved to be pretty informative – we were encouraged to ‘face facts’ about ecstasy and other illicit drugs via free, chilled water bottles given out to us. What we didn’t expect was that the water – which looked normal – was actually lime flavoured, which made us think about the message ‘you don’t know what’s in it’ in relation to ecstasy.

Everyone was also pretty keen to get their hands on these epic t-shirts designed by 15 – 21 year olds (like you) as part of the National Drugs Campaign ‘Face Facts Tees’ competition. We saw people wearing them around which was a pretty visual reminder to enjoy the day, partying safely.

A massive score for US is that the National Drugs Campaign have given the Rock The Schools crew a stack of different t-shirt designs to take on the road and give out at each school as we travel around Australia. If we were you, we’d definitely keep near the front of the stage to snap one up (inside word *wink* *wink*)

I would have given my left arm to be at Coachella this year just to see this crazy amaze-balls performance by my fave band Grace Potter & The Nocturnals! Love their energy and the whole band drum solo at the end blows my mind everytime I watch it!! This is a girl who knows how to Rock!!
